Chris had lasik on both eyes last Friday! After having mine done a year ago he was ready to enjoy life without glasses. As Jackson gets older and activities get more rough it was time. In the last few months Chris has had his glasses crushed or a lense popped out on numerous occasions. He wasn't about to stop playing with Jackson so now was the time for the surgery. Here's Chris right before going in for surgery. They had just anesthetized his eyes and they burned so he's not opening them for the camera. : )
Jackson modeling the beautiful bug glasses Chris had to wear the first 24 hours.
This was 24 hours post surgery. Unfortunately for Chris, his eyes are set back in his head a bit more than normal so to isolate his eye balls for surgery required a bit more force than is typical. The doctor uses a weird suction device that pushes down around your eyeball to isolate it from the rest of your face. The device kept kept losing suction around Chris' eyes and they had to re-isolate the eyeball.
The result...I think he broke every blood vessel in his right eye and most in his left. It was kind of hard to look at him with his eyes like this, he looked like some demonised Halloween character. But, on the bright side, he can see and the surgery was a success! No more glasses!!!
Saturday we braved the cold temps (9 degrees) and went on an hour and a half hike at Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary. Thsi was about one hour too long for my body but once everything went numb I just went with it...
Half-way through the walk Jackson was needing serious face protection. I just went with complete loss of feeling in my face and lost the ability to form words.
I had to put up this photo of a new mountain lion resident recently brought to the sanctuary, who apparently doesn't like her enclosure. She's literally eating the walls! There are large boards up around the window sills of her enclosure because she's eating them! Watching her tear the boards apart gave me a new appreciation for their bite strength.
Jackson was wore out after a long, non-stop and fun day. I had to wake him up when we got home. I brought him in to the house and set him on a stool so I could get my jacket and shoes off. He pulled the other stool over and laid down and fell back asleep. I covered him up with Chris' jacket (he has his head on my scarf).
I had to post a photo of this excellent closet item Chris installed for me over the weekend. I have quite a few belts and my old system for hanging them involved what looked like a large key ring (not a good way to organize belts). Chris saw this nifty pull out belt item on the show "Home Time" and decided it would solve my morning belt frustrations (what typically happens is I try and get a belt off the 'key ring' and end up with 25 other belts falling off...frustrating). Not any more, I love this device!
Thank you honey!
A SYRING TWINS UPDATE!
Mike and Rohan ( I love Roh's genuine cheeseball smile here).
Mike has Tesla on his chest. When they put the babies on Mike or Mara's chest, skin to skin, they call it kangaroo time. It's good for the baby's development to have that human touch. Rohan couldn't be happier his baby sisters are here!
Tesla looking up at her daddy.
Side note - MY GOD they are tiny!
Baby Prana is healthy enough to venture out for kangaroo time with Mom. Look at her tiny hand up by her face!!!

Wow, your new nieces are tiny and precious little girls.
Living in Green Bay in the winter must get to you for braving the cold outdoors for a 1.5hour walk, yikes!
