That's what our weekend was all about, chillin'.
Friday evening we were chillin' at Jackson's school. They had a fun family event where you wear your Pj's, bring a blanket and pillows and watch a movie. They provided drinks, popcorn and some candy, the perfect storm for over-tired elementary kids : )
Jackson with his good friend. We sat next to them on the gym floor so the boys could interact.
Chris is just chillin' on our movie pad.
Jackson enjoying the popcorn.
Me not wanting my photo taken (I hate getting my photo taken...borderline phobia). So what does Chris do? He took random photos that were awful, like this one.
Unfortunately, this is as good as it gets...
I managed to capture the pre-movie chaos in the gym.
With the -30 degree wind chills no one had gotten outside for recess. And "gym recess" during the school day isn't enough to burn off their never-ending energy. So the pent up energy came out that evening, there were kids running and screaming everywhere! It was great to see all the fun they were having!!!
Let the movie begin!
Saturday we were chillin' at an ice fishing tournament. Many of Chris' co-workers helped to organize the event so we patronized it and enjoyed our first ice-fishing tournament. I love this photo of Jackson eating a hot dog next to this giant Northern...no gloves and it's 9 degrees out.
Ready to hit the ice!
The "gear train".
Again, it's NINE DEGREES out child!!! Get your gloves on!!!
This is a never-ending battle.
Sunday before the Super Bowl we were chillin' at my parents house to celebrate Chris' birthday a few days early. My mom made a phenomenal dinner with a TON of Chris' favorites and she topped it off with one of the best homemade velvet cakes I've ever had! This is Chris' absolute favorite cake. Shhh....He did sneak a bit of frosting as part of this photo. :)
Jackson took a photo of the family before we dug in to ham, veggies, bread, jello salad, mashed potatoes and gravy!
THANK YOU MOM AND DAD!
