My Mom turned 60 on August 2nd!!! And, as is tradition, she celebrated her birthday days before it even arrived. Turning 60 is a big deal. Entering any new decade is special. To celebrate and show our love for our Mom my sister and kidnapped her. Literally.
She showed up at a gas station in Madison to bring Taylor and Kaylee back to Jen and Tony after enjoying them for a week. While saying good-bye to the girls I snuck out of the gas station and Jen and I whisked her away. She was dumbfounded. Speechless. We were ecstatic!
Of course we had a lot of help to pull this off. A big thanks to the Bower's family, Mike and Dad.
Jen and I had been scheming for over a month on what to do. Staying true to my type-A personality, I developed an itinerary complete addresses and phone numbers, with hyperlinks to both the establishment's website and Google maps. I'm confident that even if we didn't have a thing planned we would have had a great time. And we did!
The kidnapping caught on video.

The day before the BIG kidnapping Chris and I had everyone to our house to make homemade pizzas.
My Mom and Dad.
Aww.
: )
Kaylee with the beach themed stepping stone she made for Grandma's 60th b-day gift.
Taylor with her leopard/zebra/bling themed stepping stone she made for Grandma's 60th b-day gift.
All three Grandma/Mom-themed stepping stones laid out on my Mom's butcher block, waiting to surprise her when she got home from work. The themes we chose were: Kaylee = Beach, Taylor = Zebra/Leopard/Bling and Jackson and I = Personalized Bling.
Complete with balloons that suited her nicely.
My nieces just being awesome during our day together.
Enjoying an outdoor patio lunch at the Great Dane in Madison.
Heaven. What made this nail salon so amazing was the people. They were fun, funny and excellent at what they do. We could not have picked a more perfect place!
Mom splurged for all of us to get some funky sandals to show off our great pedicures.
THANK YOU MOM!!!!
BTW - The Birthday Girl chose hot pink for her birthday color. I love it!
The ultimate birthday gift....a picture in front of the Wienermobile.
Jen and I are holding our breath as Mom descends to the lower deck on our boat. We thought for sure she was going in "the drink".
A combined 100 years of Syring.
