Surprise!

It's been a week of surprises...

"Mom, I've got a BIG surprise for you.... piggy's!". I've loved his "piggy's" (toes) since the day he was born and he knows I love them so he surprises me with them every time he takes off his shoes. Keeping with his 'BIG surprise' concept I planned an evening of swimming at his 'old' YMCA and called it a 'BIG surprise'. That facility has a large children's play area that he misses dearly. I started taunting him 2 hrs before we actually got there, it was 1 hr and 59 minutes too soon. Despite the non-stop nagging for clues to the 'BIG surprise' we had an absolutely wonderful time at our former YMCA.

The same night Jackson and I were headed to his big surprise I got one of my own. I walked into the laundry room and stepped in water, everywhere. The washer was done for and it went out in grand style, what a mess! On the bright side (there's always one somewhere) I get to buy a new front load washer! And, in true form, I had 6 pages of research in hand when we went shopping so I got the best quality for the price point. And to those of you who think I may have sabotaged our old washer for the new one I say "No way!", I'm much to cheap! And front loaders are anything but cheap, but buy one we did. However, due to the stellar deal I found, ours is on back order for an entire month (everyone else knew a deal when they saw it too). This was not such a good surprise. So we wait.

We're very appreciative to my parents for helping us do the loads and loads of laundry we had, plus watch Jackson while we went washer hunting. Jackson never minds being at his G&G's. And right now the neighboring construction site proves to be entertaining each and every time!

Saturday was another day of big surprises but these were good! We surprised Jackson by taking him to the Village of Howard's fire department open house and then to the Besadny Fisheries Facility open house (with the Evenson's!). Both events were a hit, no surprise there. To top the afternoon off Chris and Jackson dropped me off at the Y to go grocery shopping and found that the recently opened grocery store was holding it's grand opening, complete with the Milwaukee Brewers sausages, a bounce house and slides!
