To commemorate Labor Day we spent the weekend doing nothing but never stopping. You know those weekends where you're on the go inside or outside the house doing this and that and accomplishing a lot but you don't really have a lot to show for it? Well, I shouldn't say that because I have photos!
Friday was COLD here, 60 degree for a high. So we saw the opportunity to build our first fire in our new fireplace AND cook s'mores! To be honest, this was WAY more fun that I anticipated. All I saw were embers and marshmallow messes all over my carpet. Not the case at all, it was great watching Jackson enjoy the fire and s'mores and Chris and I both reminisced about fireside times with our Dads. It was really an enjoyable night.
I only cooked s'mores over the fire, but it's safe to say I was in the kitchen baking a lot this weekend. I made homemade Popsicles, 3 loaves of whole wheat banana-nut bread, two types of homemade dog treats and two loaves of my Grandma's bread from scratch. I need to start exporting this stuff soon, my freezer is even getting too full!
Besides the baking, the rest of the weekend was playing outside (Jackson with the neighborhood kids), working outside (Chris and I), having friends over (Thoresens!) and going to see friends (Evenson's!). Our family enjoyed the company of some great people this weekend, we are thankful to have such great friends!
The 'scare' moments of Monday morning.

LOVE the video of him & Chris chasing and scaring each other! One of the HUGE bonuses to a larger house!
No fair it looks like you were able to FIND the GIANT marshmellows I saw at the store once and NEVER again! Looks like a fun and sticky family tradition has begun!
