Happy 2nd Birthday My Love!

Wow, he's two already?!?! On one hand it has gone by so fast, or at least the last year has. And on the other hand I can't imagine life without my little man. Here's a look back...

On Jackson's actual birthday we still had to go to work so Chris and I decided to serenade Jackson with "Happy Birthday" to wake him up. That was a miserable failure, he woke up briefly to find his nuk, look at us like we were nuts and fell face first back into his pillow. See for yourself....


After work I picked Jackson up at daycare where he received the royal treatment. I'm not sure if that was because of the cupcakes he brought in or because it was actually his birthday.

SIDE NOTE: Chris was up until 11 pm baking those cupcakes and then up at 5:30 am to frost and decorate them. He felt strongly that Jackson should bring treats to daycare on his birthday : )

Jackson and I met Chris at the doctor's office for his 2 year doctor's appointment. Next year I'm not scheduling it on his actual birthday day, not that he'll remember that this year but we really wanted to be outside playing and celebrating, not at the doctor's office. In any case, he checked out fine and even got away with no shots. I think I would have won some "Worst Mother Award" if he had to get shots on his birthday (whew!). I was astonished that in 6 months he went from 45% in height to 90% - he grew 4 inches in 6 months (he's now 3 feet tall)! All that growing sounds painful!

After the doctor's appointment we met my parents and Grandma at Culver's for dinner and ice cream. Leave it to Jackson to refuse ice cream on his birthday! We're doing the presents and cake this Saturday at my parent's house so stay tuned for the real messy photos!

Note the photo of Jackson trying to make sure his Na-Na is OK in the bathroom stall. He army crawled to get under the stall. Nice, he's a peeper :)
