Where's the Beef?

"Where's the beef?"

This is what I said after we got home from church and grocery shopping last Sunday.

Let me back up, before we had left I put 2 lbs of meat on the counter to make tacos for dinner that evening. I set the two packages on the BACK of the counter to thaw (they were solid as rocks having been in the deep freeze). When we returned home from church (about 2 hours later) the beef was not there. I started to look around and noticed pieces of Styrofoam and saran wrap on the floor. I followed the packaging pieces into the family room while Chris brought in the last load of groceries. He walked in the house to here me say, "Oh, no! OH ,NO! You have to be kidding me!!!"

Maggee had eaten 2 pounds of beef, frozen beef.....and it didn't sit well with her belly (I'm sure the Styrofoam packaging had something to do with that). So up it had all come, all over the family room.

So picture it, I'm standing in the middle of the family room with my hands over my mouth, eyes wide as saucers, spinning in circles looking at the horrific raw meat massacre. And then I spied the couch...

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" (me shrieking) Maggee, in her intense retching, pulled the cushions off the couch and puked up raw meat into the springs, fabric and wood of the couch...multiple times. There was no doubt, the couch was ruined.

I didn't take pictures of the mess  but I did take a picture of the lonely couch stuffed in the third stall garage next to the wood pile. The next day our carpets were professionally cleaned and the city picked up the couch. Looking on the bright side (?), I'll be buying a new living room set.

Does anyone want a dog?

Wow...you should have taken pics of everything and then take a full page ad out in the Post Crescent publicly shaming her.

No, I think she would just be proud of her 'accomplishment'.

Disgusting...we had a similar thing happen when our old black lab got the meat but it was cooked and the mess happened in the basement. Much "easier" clean up!
