After our fun in the sun at Sea World we headed to the Gulf coast to visit Chris' Mom and enjoy some beach time. We also made sure to canoe the Weeki Wachee River, a home for the manatees who seek shelter up the river from the Gulf. Chris and I have done this canoe trip twice before and once even saw manatees. While we didn't see them this time the crystal clear water never disappoints and Jackson loved it.
We also enjoyed some long awaited time with Chris' family. It has been too long since we had been down there to see them. Next time we won't wait so long!
Jackson helping paddle the canoe. I was holding my breath that the paddle didn't slip out of his hands. His grip leaves a lot to be desired.
We spent one day at Clearwater Beach. I LOVE that beach! We all enjoyed using our snorkels for shell finding missions and trying to catch the little fish (impossible).
After our long day at the beach we opted for some seaside grub. Can you tell we've been in the sun a bit? We look wiped out.
Of course we did lots and lots of playing in the sand.
Chris' Uncle David and Aunt Loise live near Chris' Mom's house so we had a delicious lunch and spent an afternoon over there making use of their pool. As you can see, Chris and Jackson were quit entertaining.
After four days of non-stop direct sun and swimming I needed a little time out of the pool and sun so I found this cozy "perch" and enjoyed the acrobats of my boys.
Well, that's it. That's the Stokes' Florida Vacation 2012. I'm not sure what next year holds but I have a few ideas. We had such an excellent time together as a family on this trip I already cannot wait until our next one!

What fun! Maybe a trip down in the winter should be your next trip to FL. Henry was amazed with the picture of Jackson "flying" through the air in the pool. He also noticed the dump truck in the beach picture. The canoe trip sounds great.
Looks like a great vacation!
