Avoiding Obligations

We didn't stray too far this past weekend. With our upcoming vacation it was time to get some vacation planning and home 'stuff' done. And, to be honest, we got neither done. I'm always amazed at how we can putz away and entire weekend. Oh well, as long as we have fun doing it who cares!

Dad helping Jackson learn how to use the bow he recieved for his birthday.

Not bad Jackson!

Zoo time! We're headed to the moose exhibit.

The giraffe is ALWAYS the favorite stop of the day.

It was blazing hot. A cool treat for the family to share was greatly needed!

Jackson got his over zelous smothering from me. He's like Lenny from Of Mice and Men. No worries here, I'll take his hugs no matter how I can get them!

Someday I'll look at this and it truely will be a stroll down memory lane.

Jackson didn't know we were watching him. He was told NOT to touch the peacock tail, but it was too tempting when the bird seemingly started teasing him.

Early one morning I packed egg sandwiches and we headed out for  a 45 min bike ride to a park for breakfast and a little baseball.
Let me just say, the breakfast sandwiches were awesome! My mom used to make them when I was growing up: toasted whole wheat muffin, turkey or venison bacon, low-fat cheese and egg beaters (yes I 'healthified' it). Put them all together and wrap in aluminum foil. By the time you get to your destination the cheese is melted and they're ready to eat!
Mom's breakfast sandwiches to go.

"Hey batter, batter. Hey batter, batter. SWING BATTER!"
