It's not that all birthdays aren't special but this one was especially so; it was Jackson's golden birthday! We didn't do things much different than we normally would have, but my sister helped commemorate the day by buying him 5 golden $1 coins. He has them stowed in a special place, thank you Jen!
Jackson's 'theme' for his party this year was Green Bay Packers. No surprise there. Last year we had the party at our house and had an excellent time, however this year Jackson asked to go to a gymnastics facility. This was a great decision. They had the entire place to themselves and played until they all resembled sweating tomatoes. Then it was time to fuel them with cake before sending them home. We wrapped up his birthday with an excellent meal and gift opening with family.
A HUGE thank you to all our friends and family who helped make Jackson's birthday so special.
The cake turned out great. However, cutting and eating a picture of your little boy is a little disturbing.
Trying the less adventurous things in the beginning.
I don't think he went back to this once he tried the other equipment.
We decided to give out sand pails filled with a few items for the goodie bag.
Our goof troop.
This was a fun group shot as they tossed the foam blocks up at me. I was standing on top of a spring board.
Endless fun.
The great tomato has arrived.
"Look at me Mom!"
IN COMING!!!!
"Today I am FIVE!"
My beautiful Goddaughter and me.
Kaylee getting her energy out and having fun.
Let me explain....My sister was dared by my husband to jump into the foam pit. She agreed so he jumped in, no problem. She jumped in and was immediately swallowed up by the foam blocks. And every time she moved she sunk deeper and deeper. At this point (in the picture) she is in panic mode.
A little help from the instigator and she got out just fine. We can all laugh at it now but it wasn't so funny then...at least for her.
Seen leaving the scene of the crime was former Eldridge Volunteer Fire Cheif, Larry Syring (retired!).
Note: Larry, Tay and Chris are laughing and my Mom took pictures. Such good helpers : )

Wow, I can't believe Jackson is FIVE already! Sounds and looks like he had a great birthday party. I'll have to remember that idea. Awesome cake!
