Cabin Fever Be GONE!

Mother Nature is all screwed up this year. First we have a mild winter, then we have a streak of 80 degree days in March and then it snows a few more times. What the heck?!?! Well, I think she has finally come around and things are feeling more spring-like than ever.
To enjoy this beautiful weather Chris, Jackson and I hopped on our bikes numerous times this weekend. Chris was away on business last week so Jackson and I surprised hi,m when he got home with a new bike for him and I! I love riding together as a family!

To sumise the weekend, it's best told in pictures. Unfortunately, the funnest story of the weekend found us without a camera. We were about a mile or more into a bike ride when Jackson started complaining he had a stomach ache. We turned around and started walking our bikes back so he could stay bent over a bit (he said his belly felt better that way). About 5 seconds after he said that he started dry heaving. Now what?

Here was our solution, picture this: Chris riding down the trail with Jackson's heavy Trek bike lifted in the air with one hand while he wobbles down the trail trying not to wipe out. Then there's Jackson and I...he held tight to my neck (with his helmet on) while I rode both of us back to the truck, Jackson dry heaving off my back. Now THAT would have produced some classic photos!

Now for some more pleasant biking pictures. First, you don't realize just how much your child has changed until you find similar photos and compare them. Wow.

Jackson and Dad getting us ready to hit the trail.

Chris and Jackson walking out onto the tunnel top. Note the death grip Chris has on Jackson's hand.  : )

What a beautiful day!

Ok, I was still a bit cold for ME so I had gloves on. Nothing out of the norm, being cold is status quo for me in most weather. Jackson's face in this photo is also status quo these days. 100% goffiness all the time. It's good medicine.

Enjoying the view from the top of the tunnel.

Jackson was walking a log back and forth over the water next to the trail when the odds caught up with him and he fell in.
The water swallowed up his shoes and it was COLD!

Chris and I gave up our socks so Jackson could ride back with warm feet that could also withstand the traction ridges on his pedals.

The result....Classic.

Fishing isn't so much my thing. I like being outdoors but more for the scenery and serenity than the fishing. I brought along an e-book to read while Chris and Jackson bartered with the fish.

Jackson was getting a bit board when the fish refused to show themselves so he joined me and we enjoyed the warm sun like two reptiles sunning themselves on a rock. We are Ectotherms.

This photo reminds me a little of the beginning of the Andy Griffith show. I love this photo.

Taking a stroll to look  for signs of fish at our new fishing stop. The hands in the pockets is sweet.

The fish aren't biting you say? Well let me entertain you!
Each time he did this he tried to land on a different target further and further away.

Until he got hurt. Then Mommy makes it all better : )

I really like the "Andy Griffith" photo too. Comparison photos are great too. I hope our mild winter doesn't mean a SUPER hot and dry summer!
