Dreaming into 2011

Jackson sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night or in the morning and will say, "I had a bad dream." He can never recall what it was but when those are the first words out of his mouth when he wakes up you can tell he's bothered by whatever his dream was.

To help 'catch' those bad dreams and also keep us busy over the long New Year's weekend we worked on a dream catcher. The concept originated with the Native Americans (Ojibwa), theirs are not made from a wire hanger and toilet and paper towel rolls. To 'catch' the dreams you decorate a web-like structure with personal items such as beads and feathers to catch the bad dreams which disappear with the light of day, the good dreams are allowed to get through. You then hang the finished item above your bed.

Jackson says we're working on one for Chris and I's room next. Being an all to vivid dreamer I'm all for it!

About the last photo - Jackson was sitting on the side of the sink in his underwear getting all of the paint and glue off of himself. Next thing I knew his slid all of the way in, like he used to when he was about 1/2 his current size. We both got a great laugh out of it!

We're not done yet! The hanger with the 'web' is what all of the decorated rolls will hang from, they're still in the process of drying from the pounds of glue draped on them.
