2010 Trick-or-Treat - Round 1

Tonight was the first of the many Halloween events, it was Zoo Boo at the Northeast Wisconsin Zoo. It was also the day of the big costume reveal, Jackson's giraffe costume. He has said he wanted to be a giraffe for the past two months so I gave in and ordered him the costume after relentlessly trying to track one down via Craig's List. And then, of course, last week he looks at me and excitidly says, "I want to be a zebra for Halloween!". I thought the giraffe costume didn't stand a chance, I was wrong. He loved his costume so much he had it on, head and all, the entire night, even in the car (you should have seen the looks from other cars).

We got to the zoo before sundown and were able to stay until it was dark to get the full Halloween experience. They do an awesome job decorating and setting the spooky mood. I was also impressed with the amount of candy they handed out. Not that we need a lot but it's nice to see they really go all out and the kids eat it up, literally and figuratively!

He LOVES it!

This doesn't look the least bit weird...

I think the giraffe on the right looks more lifelike.

There's always time for a quick swing, even when you're dressed as a giraffe and they're handing out candy.

There's a certain animal theme here...

A beautiful night with a full moon. Spoooooky...

Time to head home. What a night!

Awe, I love the Giraffe costume! It looks like Jackson loves it too, such fun.

We'll be sad when Henry gets to decide what he's going to be for Halloween!

Awesome costume, Jackson! Autumn and Cody love it but want to know how you could hold the candy bucket with those hooves? Without even telling Autumn she was looking at the pictures and said, "It looks like they're at the NEW zoo!" Jackson fit in perfectly there...I hope they let you take him home and didn't think you were taking home one of the animals! We'll have to consider going next Halloween!!!
