Congratulations Mike & Lindsey!

This past weekend we were honored to be able to attend the wedding of my cousin Lindsey to Mike Springer. The weekend started out a little rough as we sat in Chicago traffic, moving 18 miles in 2 hours. At one point, while we sat in 5 lanes of stalled traffic, Jackson said he had to pee. So, I dumped out a McDonald's cup, pulled him from his car seat (we weren't moving) and told him to pee in the cup. Voila, porta potty!

We arrived in Lafayette at 8:45 pm (EST) still needing to eat and with the promise made to Jackson to swim before bed. So, off we went to the pool and then Chris brought dinner back to the room for us. My sister arrived soon after to share a room with us for the weekend. She may have regretted that decision after Jackson's restlessness both nights. That's what an 11 PM bedtime both nights and non-stop going does to him. Saturday started off a little dreary but we ventured out to enjoy the City's downtown before heading back to get ready for the wedding. We really enjoyed the farmer's market, fountains and Wabash River area.

Then it was time to get ready for the wedding and what a wedding it was! The ceremony was beautiful, everything went flawless and the weather couldn't have been more beautiful. After the ceremony it was off to the reception, which was held within walking distance of both the church and hotel (convenient!).

The reception was held in a historic downtown theater. I can sum up the reception with one word: unbelievable. The movie theme was carried throughout the place, culminating with the giant movie screen set behind the head table with photos of the bride and groom scrolling behind. Everyone had their own popcorn reception favors at each table and hundreds of twinkle lights and tooling lined all the banisters and floor runners. When the slide show wasn't showing classic black & white romantic movies silently played (Casablanca, Love Story, etc). The pictures won't due the setting or decoration justice. A huge kudos to Penny, Lindsey and everyone else who helped to pull that reception together!!!

Thankfully Chicago wasn't a bear and it took us only 5 hours to get back to Green Bay. We had an excellent weekend and a big CONGRATULATIONS to Mike & Lindsey!
