Well, we finally decided to get rid of the nuk once and for all. We have Jackson down to using nuks for naps only at home and night time. We tried taking it away awhile ago and did well but we gave in after a week of him getting up 3 or 4 times a night. This time we'll stick it out, there's no other option.
To commemorate this joyous event I turned to my Facebook friends to lend me a hand at how to go about pulling the plug (pun intended). I was given loads of excellent advice and settled on a combination of some tips. We threw a 'No More Nuk Party' that included pizza (his choice for dinner), a store bought cake I retro-fitted to be a 'nuk cake', balloons, streamers and even a couple gifts. After the festivities we ceremoniously boxed up the nuks and put them in the mailbox to be sent to Jackson's cousin, Rohan. Or as Jackson calls him, "Baby Rohan". We had suggested Jackson give up his nuks to Rohan before but we were met with little/no enthusiasm. I'm not sure if it was the sugar from the cake or what but he was much more upbeat about giving them away this time. The party was a roaring success and we had a lot of fun.
Update: So far so good. He's in bed tonight without his nuk and we all survived. Check back in a couple days : )

Well good luck - you sure did a great job with that party! You'll have to keep us updated on how the next couple nights go without them!!
