After a long week of working 12 or more hours a day Chris needed to sleep in on Saturday. Jackson and I decided to get up bright and early and head to Starbucks to enjoy some tea (me) and a muffin (Jackson). He loves setting up his farm animals all over the outdoor patio and playing. This allowed me to read the paper and Chris to sleep in a bit.
After we returned home with Dad's coffee, Jackson attempted to ride his mini-firetruck (not intended to be ridden). I think he was sill inspired by the firemen we saw in the parking lot of the grocery store. I approached them with Jackson and asked if they would let him see their firetruck. They obliged and were even nice enough to turn on the firetruck lights and move the truck back and forth for us. Needless to say, no toy exists that could top the excitement this brought to my son's face. Priceless, absolutely priceless.
A first for the season! Today we had our first tomato that was ready to be picked. Jackson picked it and tried to eat it but was less than impressed with the taste. I ended up eating it. YUM, I can't wait for more!

We have tomatoes too - YUM!! Hopefully he'll develop a taste for them in the next couple years - that's one of the best parts of summer!
