Powerful

I had to share this letter my Grandma recieved from her former Pastor and close friend. My Grandfather and her have a special bond with him. This is the Pastor who married my parents and baptized my brother, sister and I. My Grandpa and Grandma shared some very difficult times with Pastor Marshall, the loss of their daughter (Barb), the loss of my Grandfather (Harold), and lately my Grandma has requested to talk with him about her recent health struggles (Alzheimer's, stroke). These conversations with Pastor Marshall do my Grandma a world of good and keep her faith strong.

Well, last week my Grandma recieved a note from Pastor Marshall. This letter touched my family deeply. My Mom read it to my Grandma and her comment was, he "knows me very well and said exactly the right thing, God Bless him". The rest of us couldn't speak. The letter read as follows:

Dear Bethany,

I have noticed over the years, that as people prepare to step over into the new adventure, their first concern is whether or not their passing will be painful. From what I know of your condition yours will not be. Their second concern is that they will soon be forgotten. Again, I can assure you that will not be your concern. Not only will your personality and loving care live on in those of us who love you, but you are leaving great examples of your talents through your stitches. It is my faith that you will also have some catching up to do with Barb and Harold and others who have gone before. But, I also believe you can whisper in the ear of those here, whose time has not yet come. May you take that next step, in confidence, that you have done your part well here, and that God’s new adventure is not to fear.

Tambo, (That all may be one)

"Pastor Marshall"

P.S. If we don’t get to see you before you move on, swing by Tennessee on your way to the beyond. I know we will sense you viewing our home that both you and Harold hoped to see.

Yep...Pretty powerful stuff! Pastor Marshall has always known exactly what to say. I gotta admit it was pretty sad to read though...

It sounds like that gave your Grandmother peace...and that's such a needed gift at this point!
