The Big Move

This weekend was the big move for my Grandma. She moved from her apartment to an assisted living facility (still in Eldridge) called Grand Haven. Let me first say that I am eternally grateful to those who helped: physically, spiritually and emotionally. We had approximately 12 people to help with the move so it took only about 1 1/2 hours to load and unload her items...and the rest of the weekend to begin to unpack but that will be an ongoing process. Those of you close to this issue understand how hard this was for my family but it's comforting to know Grandma is in a safe place. It helped that during lunch at Grand Haven she spent more time talking with all the residents she knew than she did eating! You'll see in one of the photos Kaylee and Dylan are playing a Wii on a huge flat screen TV. I was amazed that the Grand Haven had a Wii and even more amazed at the number of residents who play it! They're actually having Wii bowling tournament in February...I love it!

While I was in Iowa Chris stayed back with Jackson. No sense bringing him when one of us would be running after him the entire time anyway. Plus, Jackson gets to go back to Iowa next weekend with my parents and stay with my sister and Tony all weekend! We mentioned this to him today and he has already begun to say Tony, Annie and Tanta (Jen). As part of their weekend together Chris and Jackson went out to Bacon Farms to visit Dan and Holly, Nutmeg (guinea pig) and the cows. I'm bummed I didn't get to go but it looks like they had a great time. THANK YOU to the Bacon's for letting Jackson "play" with the cows and for the visit!

Is Chompers eating that ball? Bet they never thought to put a "Choking Hazard" sticker on a 8" ball...:)
We can have Dan drop off a calf anytime you want. Jackson would love to have one...:)
