I got back from MO on Saturday and Chris left to hunt in Iowa on Tuesday through Sunday. I'm happy to say he got a deer, even if it wasn't the monster I think he saw in his dreams. That buck is still out there though and he'll get him.
While Chris was gone Jackson and I enjoyed our one on one time together. The work week was a little rough. Two mornings the dogs got spooked and on Friday I had to be in Milwaukee for work early so every morning we were up between 4 and 4:30 am. Thursday evening Jackson was kind enough to let me bring the presentation I was giving in Milwaukee on Friday to dinner for some last minute tweaks and review. He was a great listener and provided constructive criticism. Take a look at the sunrise that greeted me on my way to Milwaukee Friday. Mother Nature gave me quite the show which helped keep me awake on the way down.
Friday Jackson had his 1 1/2 year appointment. He's 26 lbs, 3 oz and is in the 50% for height and weight and 75% for head. All in all a healthy boy on track with everything. After the Holidays we'll be moving him to a twin mattress on the floor. That will be an interesting transition.
Saturday Jackson and I got up and headed out early to my parents at 7 am. I got to the car and quickly realized it was locked. Then it hit me that when I was cleaning out the car the night before Jackson was playing in the drivers seat and must have hit the locks. I keep my keys in the car since it's locked in the garage. Now the keys are safely locked in my car! Thank God for AAA. They has a locksmith there in 20 minutes and were were on our way by 7:30 am. I spent most of Saturday morning and early afternoon shopping with my mom. My Dad and Jackson built a fort and played. I'm not sure who played harder, Jackson or my Dad?
Sunday we went swimming at the YMCA for 1 1/2 hours. Jackson LOVES the water. He puts his face in, blows bubbles, stands under the water features and runs towards the deep water until he's under water. I don't' wish for him to be fearful of the water but he's on the other end of the spectrum and qualifies as a daredevil. After swimming we took advantage of the sun peaking through the clouds and played outside and cut down all the old perennials and cleaned leaves from the landscaping. I finally got video of Jackson calling Maggee, he picked this up from Chris and I (of course). I had tried to get his to do it the nigyht before but he wasn't cooperating. I posted that video anyhow because he assults Gabby and shows off his jabbering abilities...it was too funny not to share.

I love the MAGGEE! call. He actually sounds really clear too, he must practice...:)
I do love the video of him using Gabbee as a trampoline...:)
I like the picture of him at the table (when you gave your presentation) - the dogs are at the ready for any 'droppings', I'm sure!
The better question is: did the dog come when Jackson called her??
