Sorry for the late post. Every night since Sunday I've completed one step to get this post completed......downloaded photos, uploaded photos to Photobucket, created slide show, created posting......And here we are on Thursday night, and the posting is finally done.
So, here's the skinny.....Last weekend we left for Iowa to bring my Grandma back, wrapping up a 2-week stay with my parents, and to attend my friend Shawna's wedding reception. We left Friday at 5 pm and by Saturday at midnight we were back in Wisconsin, yes you read that correctly. A whirlwind trip, huh. In between those 31 hours we spent 12 hours in a car and 6 hours sleeping. The other 13-hours were spent attending two soccer games (8 am games are chilly), running 5.5 mi (running at 7 am is even colder!), having a great lunch with the Bower's family (thanks Jen!), playing with my nieces all afternoon on the swing set and finally, attending Shawna's reception. I can't believe it but I didn't get ANY pictures of the bride or me with the bride. Duhhhhhh!!! So take my word for it, the reception was beautiful, the bride was beautiful (loved the dress!) and the setting was gorgeous! I forget how beautiful Iowa can be in the fall as the sun is setting on the rolling farm fields. Jackson was in seventh heaven at the reception. He got to go into a huge Tigger bouncer, getting him out was nearly impossible. There was also a swing set, tractors passing by on the road and to top it off there were beef cattle at a near bye farm that were "mooing" incessantly. He couldn't get enough of the cows, it was hilarious. He was mesmerized so Chris walked to the farm with him so he could get a better view. See slideshow.
Saturday night we stayed at my parents house. We arrived around midnight, assuming they were asleep in bed, so we were very quiet. The next morning we found out they didn't get in until 1:30 am! Wow, still got it Larry and Deb : ) My parents watched Jackson Sunday while Chris and I went to the Packers vs. Falcons game at Lambeau. We had crazy awesome seats about 6 rows up on the 2 yard line. The game was great but the Packer's lost...bummer.
The whirlwind weekend continued into the week. Monday night I gave a presentation for work and didn't get home until after 10 pm. Chris left that next morning (Tuesday) for Ontario, Canada (work not play) where he'll be until tomorrow. It's the longest he has been away from Jackson and the longest I've played single parent. Much to my surprise, and no offense honey, I really am enjoying the alone time with Jackson. It helps that I have such supportive family and friends. My friend Kathy knows how running affects my mood and spirit so she called me last night and offered to watch Jackson for a bit so I could get in a run. THANK YOU ERDS! And my parents fed us dinner tonight and watched Jackson while I made a Wal-Mart run for all the essentials (we were out of wipes and diapers!).
We're ready for "Daddy" to come home. Out of the blue Jackson will say "Daddy" and look around. That breaks my heart, he misses his Dad and so do I!
Here are some photos from this past weekend....we had so much fun!

Sounds like a CRAZY week for the Stokes'!
Don't worry Shell- Sam loves the baby dolls at day care- just means they'll be good daddies! The pink barbie car is really something though...
