Chuck E. Cheese and Fall Fest

Saturday was a bit too busy for my liking but fun never-the-less. The starter pistol went off Saturday morning.....I spent the morning at a fitness seminar hosted by Aurora Hospital (it was awesome!) and then helped set up for a church dinner event until 2 pm. After that Chris, Jackson and I headed to Chuck E. Cheese for a surprise birthday party for a co-worker of his. She's from Romania and for her 30th B-day she wanted to see what the big deal was about Chuck E. Cheese. Jackson had never been and I hadn't been since I was probably 10 when it was called Showbiz Pizza. Anyway, talk about sensory overload. I had to take a video so everyone could appreciate the Vegas-like atmosphere. Mike/Mara - I see this in your future!

We then headed to the De Pere Fall Fest. It was a beautiful day to stroll through the vendors and listen to a great band. Jackson loved the music and all the people who brought their dogs. He has no fear of them, I think he got that from me (I've been bitten 3 times....one time the bite required 16 stitches on my face). The highlight of the day occurred at Fall Fest when a young race car driver offered to let Jackson sit in his car. We literally couldn't get him out. I was trying to reach in through the window (there are no doors) and grab him but he wilted down and became a wet noodle, total dead weight. After pulling him through the window the water works turned on. Thank God the driver had the sense to give him a picture of the car as a keepsake. All was right with the world again.

After Fall Fest we visited Jackson's daycare teacher, Ms. Misty. This was the women who took care of him when he was a colicky new born. She was one of the few people I felt comfortable leaving him with during those early/tough stages. Misty is on bed rest in the hospital awaiting the arrival of identical twins! It was great seeing her and her latest ultrasounds. We wish her the best and can't wait to meet the little ones! It was 7 pm...home to put the little man to bed.

Sunday I went for an early run and met Jackson and Chris at Starbucks. We enjoyed the warm morning then headed home to get ready to go to Appleton. I went down with a friend to do some shopping for a Green Bay Chamber dinner we're attending and Chris and Jackson went to Scheels and then to my parents where I was dropped off post-shopping. My mom made an awesome lunch (Grandma's meatloaf! Mike, I know you're jealous). We made our way back to Green Bay but stopped at a fitness store to drool over treadmills. After racking up another couple miles of running trying out all the models I think I found one I like. It's the Life Fitness T5.0. I'm doing my research and reading the reviews now and may find a fellow fitness guru give me their honest opinion. As winter nears so does the treadmill purchase!

That was pretty much the weekend. Tomorrow Jackson's daycare is closed for an in-service so I'm taking the day off to goof off with my boy. It's suppose to be 76 degrees and sunny!!!
