Sunday - Much Better

Today was much better than yesterday. I was feeling a million times better, even by late last night I knew I was on the mend. Lets just hope Jackson didn't get it....

Chris and I had a great laugh this morning.....We got up at 6 a.m. (sleeping in for us). By 6:30 a.m. I was on a 4-mi run and finished up by meeting Chris at Starbucks. We sat outside and read the paper and drank a cup of tea/coffee with our dogs laying next to us. After that we went home and Chris mowed the lawn, trimmed and did laundry. I cleaned most of the main floor and scrubbed the appliances. We got ourselves ready and off to church we went at 9:45 a.m. to meet my mom, Grandma and Jackson.

Here's where we got to laughing....On our way to Church I laughed out loud because before we had Jackson we never realized how much you can get done in such a short period of time. Life post-Jackson we realize the value of "grown up time" and made the most out of every second. The run and relaxation was nice but we missed our son beyond belief, even the dogs were looking for him in his crib. Needless to say I smiled from ear to ear when he came walking up the steps to me at church saying "mommy" and then holding on to me for dear life. I know our time apart wasn't traumatic for him, he had a blast, but at times, it still is for me.

Church was great. My Grandma is so friendly to everyone and had a great time talking to everyone. She was a UCC member for 45 years before her and my Grandfather moved to Eldridge. She said it was like "coming home" to her and the whole service was "like a dream". I'm glad I can do something to make her so happy. I've included some photos from church, Jackson, Chris and I may look a little flustered/flushed in the photos. Jackson had been running around the later half of service and Chris and I were taking turns running after him (trying not to disrupt service as usual) and taking him in and out of the sanctuary. He's a little heater, check out how red his cheeks are in some of the photos.

To sum up the weekend...it was great. A couple rough spots but Jackson was in an awesome mood all weekend. He's so much fun at this stage, we can't help but enjoy each second with him!!!
