Hit and Miss

A quick side note from last weekend's blog posting. The Monday Appleton Post-Crescent paper had a photo of Jackson and I in it from the marathon. Hold a cute and clapping child and you might get some face time : )

It's Saturday, the weekend isn't over but for me it kind of started Thursday afternoon so it feels like tomorrow should be Monday. Thank God it's not. The title of this posting refers to the weekend as it has transpired so far.

Thursday (the unofficial start to my weekend) was a great time. I took off from work a little early and Jackson and I went to my parent's house for dinner. My Grandma is visiting from Iowa so Jackson and I got to spend some fun time with her and my parents. We discovered that Jackson loves, actually he's more like obsessed with playing in my mom's convertible. He was having so much fun we decided to take our pizza and eat outside while he played in the car. We had a pizza-party of sorts. We were out there about 2 hours with him in the car. He was being such a ham (see videos). At one point a flock of geese went overhead and were honking loudly. He stopped in his tracks and his mouth dropped open. It was hilarious, watch the video. Needless to say Thursday was a hit.

These are two of the funniest videos we've captured in a long time. Listen to what he says at the end of each of them and be sure to watch his mouth in the second video.

Friday was a "work" day but it was spent outside in the northwoods on a beautiful Wisconsin fall day. The trees are just starting to turn, the views were breathtaking. Friday was a hit until about 8 pm when I started to not feel so well. I hit the pillow at 8:15 pm, very unusual for me. Chris had just dealt with a "bug" two days prior, my turn.

Now for today. Our family had lots of grand plans today but when I rolled out of bed I knew I was in trouble....still not feeling well. We ended up going to the farmer's market and then to a local park for a couple hours before lunch. There's one photo of me trying to deal with the aches from whatever I have by laying flat on my back at the park while Jackson swings. I look pathetic. Chris and Jackson were patient with me as I moved about as fast as a snail. Whatever I caught ransacked my energy. Jackson and I were suppose to head to my parents to spend the afternoon/evening while Chris went hunting but I wasn't feeling up to it. My Mom and Dad graciously offered to take Jackson for the afternoon and overnight so I could get over this "bug". Have I said lately how AWESOME my parents are? They are. I'm typing this entry from my couch on my laptop, I don't think I've moved in 4 hours. I can't fathum having to run after Jackson with my empty energy tank. A HUGE thank you to my parents and Grandma for taking the little man overnight. We'll be seeing him tomorrow at church when everyone meets up in the morning. Saturday was a hit and a miss. I got to spend some great time with my family but I felt/feel like crap.

Tomorrow looks more promising?...
