Labor Day Collage

"Collage" because we did a bunch of different things this long weekend. Much of it revolved around running errands, walks around the neighborhood, shopping, and cooking (Chris and I cook and freeze meals ahead of time so the week nights aren't so hectic). Those formerly mundane outings have become much more interesting with Jackson; both good and not-so-good : ) Besides the ho-hum outings we did manage to make it to the archery range Friday night with our friends, the Evenson's, and then went for pizza.

Side note - When we were at the archery range Chris' first shot impaled/skewered a toad. Literally went right through the center of it. Let me stress that this was a complete accident. His bow sight had slipped so when he shot it went under the target and skidded on the ground, hitting the toad. Talk about wrong place at the wrong time. I have a photo of this on-in-a-million shot but thought better of posting it. I had to take the photo because you really have to see it to believe it. The Evenson's were there, they can vouch for the incident : )

Saturday was shopping in Appleton and lunch with my parents. Jackson fell asleep as we pulled into Applebees so I ate with him sleeping on my chest. Oh, how multi-talented Moms are! This video is of Jackson eating ice chips. He loved them more than his own food....

Sunday I did my 10K and then we headed to my parents to swim (it was a scorcher this weekend - 86-90 degrees!).

Today we went to the wildlife sanctuary early in the morning to beat the heat and then broke out the kiddo pool. This evening was spent moving food to cool locations as our fridge is petering out on us. The freezer is just cold enough to keep the fridge items cold and the freezer items are all downstairs in the deep freeze. Look for the photo of Chris and Jackson trying to figure out what's wrong. We're calling a repair man tomorrow....

It sounds like you had a lovely weekend spending it with your family! Jackson is just too cute for words.
