First off, thanks to everyone who called to see how Jackson was doing and to my parents who visited and brought dinner and allowed Chris and I to take a hour nap. Man did we need it. They even bought Jackson a lawn chair for the summer!
Despite Jackson's sickness we managed to get outside and enjoy the 60 degree weather on Saturday. The only thing that kept Jackson from crying on Saturday was being outside so we got the lawn raked and all the windows cleaned while he sat there content as could be.
The antibiotics finally kicked in about 36 hours after we first gave it to him. We knew they were working because last night at midnight and again at 3 am Jackson wanted to eat. He hadn't really eaten since Tuesday so this child was HUNGRY! We went through 3 pudding cups and a slice of bread in two 30 minute feeding sessions. All in all he's running at about 80% his usual self, even the rash has begun to fade and his temperature is back to normal.
Since he was feeling better we did get out to a couple open houses and I even took him on a run on the Fox River Trail. It was the first time I had used the running stroller. It's a lot harder to run at a decent pace with an extra 22 pounds in front of you! We're thinking about doing the Bellin Run (10K) but I'm not sure I want to run the whole thing with the stroller. We may just walk it with Jackson or I'll run and Chris will walk it with him. Either way I think it'll be a fun time.
Before I wrap up this posting I have to make note that Jackson said his first word today. Well, other than Momma or Daddy. His first real word was Maggee. I couldn't believe it. Maggee went racing across the living room and he waved at her and said "Maggee". He did it again later but I couldn't get it on camera. It's ironic that the dog that ignores him is the one he covets the most!
