Change of Plans

What a bummer. Due to a monster storm Friday we didn't get to go to Des Moines this weekend. So we missed out on Mike Underwood's wedding and missed seeing my brother and Mara. Talk about disappointing. On the positive side, we don't have to spend 19 hours in a car this weekend...and after sitting (forever!) in Chicago traffic Thursday on my way back from a meeting I was dreading the additional windshield time.

Friday was a holiday for me at work so Jackson and I spent the day together running errands and being goofy (see oobleck video).

Cabin fever has set in BIG TIME for our family so to make the best of Saturday we spent all day out and about. Chris and Jackson dropped me off at the YMCA for my Saturday class while they tooled around Green Bay (mainly at Fleet Farm). After my class we went home and had some breakfast and then off to a couple department stores, the mall and finally Barnes and Noble for some hot drinks (yes, it's still that cold here). Jackson slept during our B&N trip so Chris and I actually got to relax together and enjoy a piece of red velvet cake.

By the time we left B&N Jackson was up and ready to take on the world again (see video of the running and laughing). That little guy is nothing but a ball of energy and is putting it to good use by giving "high fives" and walking 10-15 steps consistently now...much to the dismay of Gabby and Maggee : )

I still think dying it green would have been very festive for St. Patrick's Day!
