A Sports Weekend

Soccer, cycling and the Packers, how could the weekend go wrong? Well, Jackson had his hand stepped on by a cleat while tending goal, the cycling instructor tried to kill us and the Packers lost. So much for a winning weekend. Ok, so it wasn't that bad. Heck even a bad weekend is better than any good week at work!

Getting ready to have a few friends over for the game. I was setting out my chocolate dipped peanut butter pretzel sandwiches. Thank you Pinterest!

Jackson was excited for the big game. Actually, he was most excited about having friends over during the game.

Chris and I did cycling on Saturday. He has been brave enough to go with me the past month. Jackson took this picture of Chris and I, noting my red face. We call Jackson the "tomato" because when he gets hot he gets bright red. Well, I think I know where those genes come from. After our instructor tried to kill us in class I brightened up like the sun and was red for about an hour afterwards.

Jackson ends up getting his hand stomped on here. The girl kicking the ball is a stud. She's also in Jackson's kindergarten class. And, wait for it..... she's  also as close as he has come to a girl he's liked. Yep, I think they have a little crush on one another, as much as kindergartners can. We met her Mom at the game and we all went out for ice cream afterwards. These two sat at their own table eating ice cream and coloring pictures for each other.

Chris and I have also spent a few days with Jackson at school helping out or just observing. While on the playground Chris observed Jackson's friends and this girls' friends saying things like, "Jackson, look there's so-and-so!" and vice versa.

Let me put it out there.....I'm not ready for any of this girl crap yet.
Practicing being the goalie before the game started. He likes playing this position and goes all out when he's in the box.

Patiently waiting for his turn to get back in the game. He did manage two goals this game and is learning to turn with the ball really well. He's come a long way in the last two years.

That said, nothing will come before football. This kid is obsessed with watching and playing the sport.
