Getting the Energy Out

Four year old energy knows no season and finding enough outlets can be challenging in winter. However, we always find a way to "get the energy out", as Jackson puts it. Friday night we decided to try out a new gymnastics facility that has open gym in the late evening. Jackpot! We'll be doing this for play dates in the near future.

Besides the typical soccer, etc. on Saturday we also attended an event at the Brown County Area called "The Family Extravaganza!". And an extravaganza it was! They had music, dancing, a sand pile, box maze, bounce houses, a children's entertainer, and a bungee set up. (cheapskate note - A non-perishable food item got one adult in for free. An afternoon of fun for the family for $5!)

How do you define success in getting the energy out? Jackson went to bed on Saturday at 6:40pm , and not a peep was made until 7am the following morning!

Look Mom!

The Family Extravaganza! You can imagine how proud Chris was of this photo.

This must have been his 25th time through this blow up maze...no kidding.

Jackson keeping Dad company while he waited in line for 45 minutes so Jackson could do the bungee activity.

It was worth every minute of the wait!

The "Train" bounce house is in the background. I wonder why this was his favorite?
(Hint: the large animal sticking out of the rail car.)

Nothing draws kids in like toys among a giant pile of sand.

Two hours in and Jackson realizes he's dying of thirst. It was a mad dash for a water fountain and then drama when he couldn't reach.
Mommy to the rescue!

The box maze. You CAN'T do this if you're closterphobic.
We witnessed more than one kid freak out mid-way through the maze with no immediate way out of the boxes and kids in front and behind them. It wasn't pretty
