It was really rough going back to work after being on vacation in FL the middle of Dec, then we had time off for Christmas and then I took vacation between Christmas and New Year's. I had to reacquaint myself with the 40-hour work week!
2008 has started out with some pleasant and not-so pleasant surprises. First the pleasant news, I received a promotion at work and am now a Senior Environmental Project Manager. Also, Jackson is closer to standing and walking on his own, however that has lead to many bumps, bruises and crying tirades. All part of the transition from baby to toddler I guess. We also started parent-child swim lessons at the YMCA. They have a 90-degree pool for children that he LOVES to play in. He even enjoys "swimming" on his belly.
On the not-so pleasant front, Jackson had his first trip to Urgent Care for wheezing, a horrid cough and 103 temp we thought was RSV (there was a confirmed case in his daycare room so we thought he contracted it). Turns out he had everything but RSV....an ear infection, sinus infection and respiratory infection. We are very thankful he didn't have RSV but the other issues lead to a very unhappy/cranky/fussy/clingy/sad/tired/screaming baby (sounds like fun, huh!). Our first (and I'm sure not last) trip to Urgent Care was a 3-hour ordeal I'm hoping not to have to repeat in the near future. We also found out Jackson is allergic to Cinnamon (who knew you could be allergic to cinnamon!). Daycare called Monday to tell me that after having a couple bites of cinnamon and applesauce he broke out in hives on his face, lips, tongue and inside his mouth. They reassured me he wasn't going into anaphylactic shock....thanks, I wasn't freaked out until they said that.
For me the rest of January I'll just put my head down and get through it. I'll be traveling for work every day of the week but one until January is over, at which point I'll take a vacation day (can't wait!). Well, I hope you like the photos. I tried capturing a couple cute moments as Jackson's learning to open cupboards, play in the tub and walk from thing to thing. Maggee had to be in a few since she is the true cheese in our family!

I am so sorry Jackson was sick and you had to go to Urgent Care. We have had to go there many times with Payton and it is never fun.
