Chris took his 40th birthday in stride, which doesn't surprise me. He's not one to want a party or a bunch of hoopla so I behaved. His birthday morning started out early with Jackson and I getting up to make Chris' requested birthday breakfast, monkey bread (healthy version). Jackson decided he wanted a giant pancake instead of monkey bread. Jackson chose to wake Chris up with a noise maker while flipping the lights on. What a peaceful start to the day...
After full bellies and presents we headed off to church. During the service Chris' phone kept buzzing, to the point people were beginning to look around at what was making that noise. He pulled out his phone and saw he had 17 new text messages, all wishing him a happy birthday. I started laughing because he has no idea how these people knew it was his birthday or how they got his number. This struck me extremely funny for some reason....You know those times when it's inappropriate to laugh but you can't stop? That was me in church Sunday. I eventually fessed up. There's nothing like technology to help spread the birthday word!
The rest of the day was family time, just as Chris asked for.
