Do we really live here?

I keep waiting for someone to show up at the front door and ask me to please vacate their house. What I'm trying to say is that being here is surreal; we're finally home.

After a week of moving boxes over in our vehicles, moving day only consisted of getting large items from the old house to the new house. Instead of enslaving our friends on a beautiful Friday afternoon, we went the way of professionals for things like the chest freezer, entertainment center, treadmill, etc. This was one of the best decisions we made, worth every red cent (and that means a lot coming from me) and allowed us to relax on moving day morning prior to our closing.

There's not much to blog about with moving. It's your standard moving boxes, rearranging furniture, realizing things are missing, broken or plain just don't work in this house. One of the highlighted purchases is a swing set we acquired cheap thanks to Craig's List (I about had a coronary when I researched the cost of a new one). The neighbor kids, Jackson and our friend's children were on it in no time. We have been warmly received in the cul-de-sac. The little girl across the street even brought over a 'welcome to the neighborhood' card. We're not on Schober Street anymore...

Jackson is adjusting so-so. Stomach aches and rough nights are tell tale stress signals for our boy. We're doing what we can to make the transition go smooth, but change is change and we can't sugar coat that. Tomorrow he starts at his new daycare, I'm holding my breath for that one. He has gone 100 mph since Thursday with my nieces and sister in town and tonight it was dinner and play at our friend's house. If he doesn't sleep well tonight none of us are going to make it tomorrow.

And now for the THANK YOU's. We had SO MUCH help from friends, co-workers and family, we can't convey our appreciation enough. This move would not have gone as smooth as it did and our house wouldn't be in the state it's in without you. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!
