Gobble, Gobble!

Last weekend we took Jackson turkey hunting. It was more of a lesson in patience than anything, for all of us. I went into the 'hunt' with the full knowledge that because we were toting a 3 year old (almost!) we wouldn't see a thing. I was correct, much to the dismay of the two men in the blind with me.

Jackson was so jacked up (no pun intended) that he couldn't sit still or stop talking. This isn't unusual under normal circumstances, let alone when he's excited and we're doing something brand new. He lasted one hour in the blind. I kept him busy while Chris eyed the field by feeding him Doritos. I could have found a quieter snack but it was left over from Chris' Subway lunch and I couldn't let it go to waste! Chris was none to happy to see Jackson was using his turkey striker as part of his mortal and pestel exercise to crunch up his Doritos...while they were in his mouth (see video).

Contortionist? No, just restless!

The hunt is over. Mom consoels the disappointed hunter. I'm sure this won't be the last time.

oh you are good parents! can't say jon's even considered taking the kids out for any type of hunting. however, every year his turkey hunting is overlapped by other activities and it seems he never gets to go anyhow (it's a sore spot, don't mention it!).
