First off, I hope everyone had a Happy Easter! We were fortunate enough to spend part of Easter weekend (Friday & Saturday) with my parents, sister, Taylor and Kaylee. My sister and her girls drove Jackson back from Iowa after his stay with them and were able to stay a couple days in WI. We had a great Easter egg hunt followed up with a delicious lunch at my parent's house on Saturday. The Bowers' headed back home Saturday afternoon : (
Sunday we stayed home and had a low-key Easter day that started inside decorating Easter eggs, the rest of the day was primarily spent outside. I 'worshiped' on Easter by taking a 6 mile run. Chris and Jackson picked me up on my route and we headed to a park for a picnic and walk on the East River Trail. It was a little cool/windy so we had our picnic in the back of the Trailblazer. The rest of the day was spent raking, cleaning up leaves, trimming bushes and plants, and taking more walks (among eating candy and hunting for Easter eggs!).
For a day that is special to me for many reasons, Easter was perfectly celebrated spending the day outdoors with my family. While Church on Easter is a mainstay for me most years, this year I found that a reflective run and time with loved ones was what I needed. It was a good choice, and you'll see from the photos it was a great Easter all around!
