When I Grow Up...

Last week at the mall Jackson noticed a bouncing apprentice where a child is slipped into a harness which is attached to bungee cords and then they jump on a giant trampoline that launches them into the air. He loved it and wanted to try it. As with many activities lately, I explained that he's just not big enough yet. I tell him that he's growing a little every day and that's why we have to get him new shoes and clothes and eventually he'll be all grown up. Well, it just so happens, we bought him new shoes last weekend, his mind began to work.

On our way to school Thursday here's how the conversation went:
Jackson: "Mom, I got new shoes, I'm grown up and can use the jump set at the mall."
Mom: "Not yet honey, you have to be a little bigger."
Jackson: "When I grow up I can do everything!"
Mom (remembering an after school special from years ago): "You can do and be anything you set your mind to. You can be a doctor, a scientist, a veterinarian......"
Jackson: "No! I don't want to be a doctor!"
Mom: "Ok, what do you want to be when you grow up?"
Jackson: "A cow.... and a horse."

Well, I said he could be anything!

First of all, now it's OK to Moo at Jackson when I see him next...:)
Second, what stored up memories do you have about after school specials? That's almost as hilarious as Jackson's dreams...almost...Jack still wins for his cow/horse hybrid aspirations...:)
