When I think back to recent events I realize we have been surrounded by gifts. Some I anticipated, some I did not; all of them I'm thankful for and I appreciate. Let me explain with brief descriptions and photos:
The 'Gift' of Snow - While it was a bit much at one time it is beautiful to see and helps get us in the spirit of Christmas.
The Gift of Friendship - When we were in AZ last summer Jackson befriended the Caldwell's dog, Abby. She is also known as 'The Biz', or to Jackson "Abbers, The Biz". He loves her like she's an old friend, despite only having met her a brief time. Abby's 'Mom', Nicole, kindly made Jackson a great hat and scarf combo and sent it from Abby. It made Jackson smile from ear to ear and now he never leaves the house without the hat and scarf on. THANK YOU to 'Abby' for making such a thoughtful gift!
The Gift of a Night Out - Chris and I were gifted a night out BOTH Friday and Saturday nights. Friday with the help of a babysitter and the gift of tickets, Chris and I enjoyed a Holiday Symphony concert. It was so nice to get dressed up, go out, hear beautiful music and enjoy good company. Saturday night my parents offered to take Jackson so Chris and I could finish Christmas stuff, enjoy a movie and sleep in.
The Gift of a Train - Jackson received an early Christmas gift from Santa: a train...that worked. The nine-year old train I pulled out this year failed to operate after we hyped it up to Jackson. Talk about seeing a disappointed face (that killed me inside). Since his potty training is going well, we decided to let Santa bring him an early gift this year to celebrate his efforts.
