On Wednesday Mike and I bought pumpkins to carve at the house. I'm fairly certain Mike and Chris had the most fun. I enjoyed making two varieties of pumpkin seeds: parmesan and ranch. Jackson drew on his pumpkin and then decided impaling it with toothpicks would be more fun.
PRICELESS:
Saturday was the first snow of the season, and it was cold (high of 38)! Ironically, last year on that same date we had set a record high of 82 degrees. But we didn't let the cold stop us from enjoying the outdoors. After spending the day at Mara's parent's farm (Bacon Farms) Mike, Rohan, my parents, my Grandma, my sister and her girls, and Mara's sister Sally and her son Sam all ventured out to a Waupaca pumpkin patch called Turner's. We enjoyed a hay rack ride to the pumpkin patch and watching the kids decide on the perfect pumpkin. After the pumpkins were picked we watched the "Pumpkin Cannon" and were "awe inspired" by it's ability to hurdle the orange orbs at frightening speeds over the transmission lines that ran in front of it. After the cannon spectacle, Jackson helped me buy some two-year-old sized gourds and pumpkins and then we delved into carmel apples. We all had a blast!
