Strawberry Picking

Last Sunday we packed up the family and headed to Appleton to go Strawberry picking with the Thoresen Family. Jon, Rhiannon, Cody and Autumn were were nice enough to invite us on their hunt for strawberries. I know Jon through work and it so happens their son, Cody, is about 2 weeks younger than Jackson. The boys hit it off famously. Autumn, the smartest 4 year old I know, was a trouper with the boys 'being boys' and even forgave Jackson for biting her (not my proudest moment as a mom).

Picking strawberries was a blast. Jackson tried to like the taste of strawberries but he just doesn't. He sunk his teeth into a fair share of our loot and made a sour face each time (promptly putting them back into the lot). We ended up with way more strawberries than we anticipated but Chris and I are having no problems getting them gone. The kids also enjoyed post-picking play on the hay rack and tractor parked near the fields.

After the fun at the strawberry fields we were invited back to the Thoresen's for dinner. It was gorgeous out so the kids played outside while Chris played 'grill master'...just like he does at home! I had to chuckle when Jackson saw all the toys in the Thoresen's backyard. He looked at me and said "Jackson go to park?". We have a tiny yard so when he sees a large yard with lots of slides and toys he assumes it's a park. Needless to say, he was is heaven having a 'park' out the back door. All in all, everyone had a good time.

Thank you to the Thoresen's for your hospitality!
