It's days like today...

That make me yearn for the weekend. I started Saturday out with a 5-mile run and a killer workout. Jackson and Chris spent some time out and about and picked me up at the Y around 9 am. From there we headed to Door County to a place called The Farm. Needless to say it was a hit. Jackson was spell bound by all the animals. He kept saying, "Hi (insert animal name) how are you?" The photos tell the story of our visit, we had a blast!

After the farm we were famished and had already planned to head to a place called PC Junction . A big thanks to the Thoresen's who recommended this place, it may have been the highlight for Jackson. PC Junction is a restaurant where they bring you your food on a train that travels around a bar-like seating area. They have a bell they ring and other fun effects that make this AWESOME for children. He was literally spellbound the first time the train came by (see video). It took us forever to eat because the train kept coming by to deliver drinks and food and Jackson watched it each and every time in awe.

After a nap on the way home (Jackson and I), it was time to make Chris his red velvet cake for Father's Day. What a 'smart' idea to crank up the oven to 350 degrees when it's 86 degrees outside with 96% humidity and we didn't turn the air on (duh!). So after the cake was in the oven outside and into the sprinkler Jackson went. What compliments a day like today? Popsicles! Jackson hasn't liked these in the past, too cold I think. That didn't seem to be a problem this time; he had two and we had a messy, but happy, child. The afternoon was a lot of fun and a great way to cap off the day. I have no doubt Jackson will sleep well tonight!

Sounds like a fun place to go - need to put it on the list to take Sam to! {oh, that's right - probably his parents will get to do that...)

The Farm is one of our absolute favorites too!!! We found it the year Autumn and I accompanied Jon up there for a business trip. I have pictures every year since Autumn was 1 sitting on that tractor. PC junction is such a little hole but boy do those kids love it. Glad to see you had fun!!! COuld Jackson be any more adorable? Could you have picked a hotter day? Yes, spying out on your blog - forgot you had one until you mentioned it last weekend!
