Quick Update

Our trip to northern WI Saturday night was a great time. We hiked, looked for wildlife and just enjoyed our time together. You'll see from the photo of our car windshield we found some wildelife, or I should say it found us. A pretty yellow bird hit our car windshield at about 60 mph..oops!

The surprising part of our trip is how much we missed our son (this was my second time away from him and Chris' first). We were both so ready to get away and then at 9:30 pm Saturday night we're trying to get comfortable in the SUV and were really missing Jackson. Chris said lets go home and I said we should stick it out and get up early and head back. His comment was, "I'm not asking you a question" so we called my parents and told them we were headed home....a 5 hour drive. So at 2 am we rolled into our driveway. So there we are at 2 am sneaking upstairs to see our son. We both felt better, tired, but better. My parents still got up with him in the middle of the night so we did get some rest. We'll look back on this "trip" and laugh someday but instead of being in agony away from our son we decided to just go back to him, it was a good decision.

So here are some photos of our abbreviated trip as well as some funny Halloween spirited photos. The pumpkin photo is for my brother. For those who don't know this, Mike seems to have this bizarre attraction to orange and wears it often. He has affectionately been given the name "The Great Pumpkin".
