Through my job I get to hire some awesome consultants. One of the gentleman I hire helps out with his family's deer farm and hunt preserve up in northern WI. As many of you know, Chris and I love to hunt. When we were offered the opportunity to tour the hunt preserve and deer farm we were ecstatic. So, last Sunday my parents watched Jackson for the day and Chris and I headed about 2 1/2 hrs north. The hunt preserve and hunting cabin were beautiful. This set up is
top-of-the-line....the kind of place I can't afford to hunt but people like Brett Favre (Green Bay Packer's QB) can. These deer can cost from $25k up to $50k!!! Despite our pipe dream of ever hunting this land we enjoyed the tour of the land standing in the back of the pick up. You'll see in the photo below the monster buck(one of many)we saw bedded down in pines. It was a perfect day and a great time. We then went to the deer farm. This farm raises BIG bucks...the kind you see on the cover of magazines like North American Hunter (see August issue with Big John on the front)...nationally and internationally known deer. I've NEVER seen deer like this before. The photo of Big John is my favorite because we were in the truck only 10 yds from where he was bedded down and he was just staring at us through the tall grass. You could really see how big he is. It was AWESOME!
Chris and I really enjoyed our time together but Jackson could have used a little R&R too. He had a rough week in daycare that culminated with getting bit on the face on Friday and started with a the mobile above his crib falling on his head on Monday. And in the middle of the week they screwed up his feeding and gave my breast milk to another kid (that mom was not very happy...neither was I) and Jackson got a type of formula he has never had. He ended up with a mild rash and the teacher who had been filling in that day was fired (she had been there 6 years!). What a week....they were nice enough to give us a free week and are still apologizing for the horrid week. We're hoping for calmer days this week; so far so good!
The deer was spotted bedded down at the hunt preserve. Enormous...what a beautiful scene!

Holy Jebüs those are big bucks! What would one of those score!?!?
Wow, you guys have had an exciting week. Too bad Jackson had a rough week. I'm sure next week will be better. I like that picture too that "you just like". Very cute!
Sounds like Jackson had a rough week! Poor little guy! Hopefully the next week is better for him, and you too!
