As much as it pains Chris and I, we had to put our loyal "Kermit" up for sale. For those who don't know Kermit, that's the affectionate name we gave our 1992 Honda Civic I bought for Grad School when we moved up here 6 years ago. That's right, the car is 15 years old and, to top it off, it's bright teal green (hence the name, Kermit). Chris and I have shot many a deer and strapped it on to the trunk of our little car...you should have seen the looks we got as we drove down the highway, priceless. Anyway, Chris has been such a trooper these last 3 years; while I drive our Honda Accord he has been suffering with Kermit. Despite it's 190,000 miles it was a good investment and a very reliable car. But given our impending baby, our two dogs, Kermit's age and miles it was clear I needed to quite being my penny-pinching self (I am Scrooge reincarnated) and upgrade. So, last week we bought a Chevy Trailblazer EXT. Talk about going from one extreme to the other (Kermit has power NOTHING and I think it was a 1-cylinder)! In the end this was one of those logical next steps but it's sad to say good-bye to such a reliable (paid off!) car like Kermit. It truly is the end of an era.
Can you guess which one is Kermit? : )
