What an amazing way to wrap up 2006. We celebrated Christmas for about a week before it actually arrived. My Grandma was up from Iowa so we opened some gifts my sister, my nieces and my parents had gotten for the baby. There are some photos below...my sister got us the giant dog and the toy. It was a wonderful week leading up to Christmas and was made that much more special having my Grandma in town.
We spent Christmas Eve at my brother's in Milwaukee with Mike, Mara, my parents, my Grandma, Mara's parents, Mara's sister and her husband and my brother's boss and her husband (who are from Scotland) and four dogs (2 are Mikes, 2 are mine). Mike and Mara announced they'll be moving to Kirksville, MO in August. Mara was accepted into Med School down there and Mike will be starting a Master's program there as well. That was the best gift anyone got for Christmas!
The only down side was that three of the dogs got into the turkey broth/fat and ended up throwing up for the next 12 hours...two times of which were in our car on the way back to Green Bay! We did manage to clean up the mess and then went to late service church. Chris and I have found a fantastic church in Green Bay where we have made many friends. it was great to spend a little Christmas time with them as well.
Christmas day has been quiet. Probably the last quiet one Chris and I will have for a long time so we are cherishing it. We've already enjoyed a lazy morning of phone calls and french toast with coffee and the paper. The rest of the day will consist of taking the dogs on a long walk and then going to a movie and having a nice dinner. I hope your Christmas is filled with the Holiday Spirit and family togetherness.
Happy Holiday's from the Stokes Family!
